Low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy

The low-temperature STM of the MND axis has a PanScan Besoke-Beetle type scanner from CREATEC coupled with low-noise electronics allowing it to perform high-quality topographic and spectroscopic measurements at 9K. Its manipulator, which is also cooled with liquid helium, permets the preparation of surfaces with very few defects under optimal conditions.
