Caractérisation et fonctionnalisation de surfaces de diamant hydrogéné ou de semi-conducteurs.

L’exemple de la caractérisation de la morphologie de surfaces de diamant polycristallin par spectroscopie HREELS.

HREELS of different diamond filmsLe diamant est un matériaux qui a de nombreuses propriétés remarquables. Il est très dur, bon conducteur thermique et biocompatible. C’est également un semi-conducteur qui présente un large bande interdite et une affinité électronique qui varie en fonction des conditions de fabrication et de la présence d’atome d’hydrogène à sa surface. La recherche de voies de synthèses efficaces est un domaine de recherche actif qui nécessite des méthodes de caractérisations fiables.

La spectroscopie HREELS est un des outils de cette caractérisation. Les signatures HREELS du diamant sont en effet différentes selon la morphologie du diamant (fig ci-contre, A. Hoffman et al. Surface Science, 2008), de son histoire thermique et des méthodes d’hydrogénation de la surface.
